Airbus and Air France-KLM operated joint venture for A350 component support finalised
Toulouse, France, 28 October 2026 – Airbus has established ‘Alpha Component Solutions’, a 50-50 joint venture with Air France, dedicated to A350 component support. The new entity will be operated jointly between Airbus and Air France-KLM to manage a worldwide shared-access pool, providing aircraft component assets, maintenance services, supply chain management and repairs for global A350 customers.
Through the combined capabilities of Airbus’ Flight Hours Services (FHS) and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), the joint venture provides an enhanced solution to address the expanding long-term component maintenance requirements of the global Airbus A350 fleet. The joint venture already contractually supports more than 500 aircraft, with a worldwide footprint ready to support new and existing operators in this rapidly growing market.
“For A350 operators, reliable access to components is essential to maintaining fleet availability and operational performance. At AFI KLM E&M, we combine extensive maintenance expertise with firsthand airline operational experience. By combining this understanding with Airbus’ FHS capabilities, Alpha Component Solutions will provide customers with a broader support network and solutions tailored to their operational needs. Our focus is on helping airlines maintain reliable operations as their fleets continue to grow.” said Anne Brachet, Executive Vice President Air France-KLM Engineering & Maintenance.
“This joint venture represents a major step forward in enhancing our A350 component support, bringing together the expertise and resources of both Airbus and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to deliver optimised solutions to our customers worldwide,” said Cristina Aguilar Grieder, Senior Vice President Customer Services Commercial Aircraft at Airbus.
Alpha Component Solutions sets a new standard for component pooling and maintenance integration, optimising the A350 aftermarket landscape. The joint venture combines operational excellence with advanced supply chain capabilities to drive higher component reliability, streamline lifecycle maintenance, and provide tailored support. Through this strategic collaboration, Airbus and Air France Industries-KLM Engineering & Maintenance reinforce a shared vision to deliver long term operational resilience and reliable, fleet-ready servicing for global operators.
