The long-standing partners are working together on a two-year initial trial for a dedicated trucking service powered by hydrogen. The Arthur Welter vehicle will operate on behalf of Cargolux five times a week between Luxembourg and Frankfurt.\n\nThe companies, both based in Luxembourg, are proud of undertaking this new chapter together to showcase the feasibility of such transport in the logistics sector.\n\n“When Cargolux initiated this project, our long-standing partner Arthur Welter was a natural choice for collaboration. Our companies have been working together for many years and this project reflects our shared ambition for the future of our industry. This initiative aims to showcase the opportunities that exist and prove that they can be adapted to a dynamic sector like air cargo. We look forward to witnessing the success of this endeavor and hopefully building on it in the future.”, says Richard Forson Cargolux President & CEO.\n\n“It is an honour for us to realize this ambitious project together with our valued partner Cargolux. Together we want to take the next step towards emission-free road transport and prove that this is already possible in air freight today. Although we are aware that we have to perform pioneering work in hydrogen mobility, we are confident that we can lead the way towards the energy transition in our sector.” Viviane Welter, CEO Arthur Welter Transports s.à.r.l.\n\nThe vehicle, specially adapted to meet the requirements of air cargo, boasts a range of approximately 400 kilometers. The truck will be re-fueled on both ends of the journey as hydrogen fueling facilities are currently scarce in the region. Both parties are confident that this pioneering initiative will serve as a milestone in decarbonizing operations.\n\nAs part of this initiative, Minister of Mobility and Public Works, Yuriko Backes emphasized: “The introduction of hydrogen-powered trucking represents a major advancement in our collective efforts to reduce emissions and improve the efficiency of logistics operations. I am confident that in the future hydrogen powered trucks will be registered in Luxembourg.”\n\nDownload H2 Factsheet\n\nAbout Arthur Welter\n\nArthur Welter, founded in 1962 by Mr and Mrs Welter, is today Luxembourg's only family-owned road transport company of its size. Cargolux generated:\n\n1. Revenues of US$ 3,324 million.\n\n2. Profit After Tax of US$ 448 million.\n\nThis financial result further strengthens the Group’s Balance Sheet, bolstering its resilience in an increasingly volatile market situation.\n\n“I am pleased to announce the exceptional results we have achieved in 2024. Our agile approach to business, and our people’s commitment to service excellence enabled Cargolux to swiftly adapt to changing market dynamics, securing yet another remarkable year”, says Richard Forson, President & CEO of Cargolux.\n\nBusiness highlights\n\nOperationally, the year was marked by geopolitical tensions with the ongoing war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East. These conflicts, and their consequences on global trade impacted both operational cost and efficiency as well as customer confidence.\n\nIn parallel, the global demand for e-commerce shipments led to a significant capacity shift to Asia and contributed to the strong volumes witnessed throughout the year. This market segment re-shaped global demand, especially out of Northeast Asia, disrupting traditional seasonal trends and making them more difficult to forecast. In parallel, the record demand experienced for charter flights, including for e-commerce, was also a major contributor to 2024’s results.\n\nThese favorable conditions, coupled with Cargolux’s agility, extensive experience, and unique ability to seize market opportunities are reflected in the strong financial results for 2024.\n\nOperational KPIs\n\nLuxcargo Handling (LCH)\n\nLuxcargo Handling smoothly took over Luxair’s cargo ground handling activities at Luxembourg airport on 1 May 2024. As a ground handler at the Luxembourg hub, LCH aims to ensure seamless service for all its customers. Investments are foreseen, in both technology and infrastructure, to further enhance and streamline ground operations.\n\nAquarius Aerial Firefighting (AFF)\n\nCargolux’s subsidiary, Aquarius Aerial Firefighting, (AFF), deployed on its first mission in the Summer of 2024. With three aircraft based in the South of Spain, AFF provided aerial firefighting support for the Spanish government. The success of this first mission contributes to building AFF’s reputation as a reliable provider of aerial firefighting services. The team and fleet are currently growing, bolstering their expertise and preparing to take on upcoming challenges.\n\nOutlook 2025\n\nThe imposition of import tariffs by the USA on its trading partners is expected to negatively affect demand for air cargo capacity and disrupt traditional trade lanes. The resulting geopolitical uncertainty coupled with the on-going war in Ukraine and conflicts the Middle East also impact operations as well as customer confidence.\n\nThe increasing focus on sustainability and the introduction of regulatory changes also put pressure on the aviation sector. The measures effective in the European Union will impact the cost of operations and will also benefit non-EU carriers, who are not subject to such regulations in their home countries. Authorities and industry players must work together to find suitable and viable solutions to ensure a sustainable future for the industry.\n\nThe global economic landscape is presently highly volatile, and the outcome of these upheavals remains uncertain at this time. The situation is being closely monitored in order to make informed business decisions when required.\n\nIn 2025, Cargolux celebrates its 55th anniversary, a remarkable achievement in the ever changing world of air cargo. These decades of commitment and hard work are reflected in Cargolux’s leading position in the industry.\n\nCargolux, based in Luxembourg, is Europe’s leading all-cargo airline operating a fleet of 30 Boeing 747-8 freighters and Boeing 747-400 freighters. The strategic investment aims to strengthen the company’s presence in Europe and support its continued global expansion. The total transaction value is 154 million euros which encompasses both companies and related receivables. The completion of the transaction is conditional upon obtaining the mandatory regulatory approvals and other transfer conditions.\n\nEstablished in 1990, Pegasus Airlines has, for more than two decades, made air travel accessible to millions through its low-cost business model. Today, the airline operates flights to 158 destinations across 55 countries, with one of the world’s youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets. Smartwings, the largest carrier in the Czech Republic, through its Smartwings and Czech Airlines brands, is among the most established airline groups in Central and Eastern Europe. The airline stands out with its network of 80 destinations in 20 countries, strong partnerships with tour operators, and its prominent position in the region’s leisure travel market.\n\nWith this acquisition, Pegasus Airlines aims to combine the experience and resources of both carriers to create an organization ready for the future, offering passengers a wider network and affordable fares. Following the acquisition, both airlines will draw on their shared expertise and build on each other’s strengths.\n\n“We’re opening a new chapter in our growth journey”\n\nCommenting on the acquisition, Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk said: “At Pegasus Airlines, we set out in 2005 with a bold ambition - to make air travel accessible to everyone. Since then, we’ve expanded our fleet from 14 to 127 aircraft, becoming one of the world’s most efficient and profitable airlines. Now, by joining forces with Czech Airlines and Smartwings which have a combined fleet size of 47, we’re opening a new chapter in our growth journey.\n\n“A shared vision has emerged with Czech Airlines and Smartwings management: together, we aim to spread our wings across Europe with two distinctive brands, Smartwings and Pegasus Airlines. This integration is not just about growth, but about creating resilient, technology-driven companies that put safety at the heart of operations and are prepared to meet the future to deliver easy, personalized and efficient travel experiences. We look forward to shaping this future together.\n\n“Today, I can confidently say that - We didn’t start aviation in Türkiye, but we transformed it-. And now, we’re ready to take the next step in our growth story. Together with Czech Airlines and Smartwings, we have a shared vision: as Pegasus Airlines and Smartwings operating under two distinct brands, we will continue spreading our wings across the world.”\n\nThe shareholders of Czech Airlines and founders of Smartwings announced that, after nearly twenty-seven years devoted to building and developing the airlines, they have made the strategic decision to transfer Czech Airlines and Smartwings to Pegasus Airlines - a strong European carrier with the potential and capability to further expand and strengthen the company’s operations.\n\nShareholder of Czech Airlines and co-founder of its subsidiary Smartwings, Jiří Šimáně said on behalf of the founders and shareholders: “We take great pride in having successfully established and grown Czech Airlines and Smartwings with limited financial resources and without the external support that most airlines typically receive from their respective governments. Throughout these years, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to resilience, innovation, and customer satisfaction, whilst overcoming every challenge on the path to long-term prosperity. We are confident that Pegasus Airlines represents the ideal shareholder for Czech Airlines and Smartwings, one that will bring millions of passengers across its network new benefits, enhanced connectivity, and a continued joy of travel.\n\n“The management and shareholders extend their sincere gratitude to all employees, partners, and passengers for their loyalty, trust, and contribution to the company’s success. The contract also includes spare engines and a long-term maintenance agreement.\n\n“Since we launched operations in 1990, CFM engines have played a major role in helping Pegasus build a reliable, efficient fleet that serves our customers,” said Güliz Öztürk, CEO of Pegasus Airlines. “We have been extremely pleased with the operation of the LEAP engine family and look forward to bringing the same performance and stability to our Boeing 737-10 fleet. The lower emissions and higher fuel efficiency of LEAP-1B engines will significantly contribute to both our 2030 CO2 reduction target and the 2050 net-zero CO2 industry emissions goal.”\n\n“This agreement marks a significant expansion in our very long and successful relationship with Pegasus and we look forward to providing the level of support that this airline has come to rely on from CFM,” said Gaël Méheust, president and chief executive officer, CFM International. “We believe that the LEAP-powered 737 MAX 10 will be in invaluable asset in Pegasus’ continuing expansion, providing longer range, lower emissions, better fuel efficiency, and unequalled reliability.”\n\nThe airline had become globally the first LEAP engine operator in July 2016, with the first commercial operation of these engines taking place on a Pegasus flight between Istanbul and Antalya. The airline began commercial operations with CFM56-3 engines and grew to include fleets powered by CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines. Pegasus now continues to expand with the latest generation of aircraft powered by both LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. The average age of Pegasus’ fleet is 4.9 years, making it among the youngest in Türkiye and the second youngest globally. *\n\nWith more than 4,000 aircraft delivered to date, CFM LEAP engines have experienced the fastest ramp in commercial aviation history. Advanced technologies like composite fan blades and ceramic matrix composites deliver an engine that’s 15% more fuel efficient, with 15% lower carbon emissions than prior-generation CFM56 engines. With an infrastructure based on digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability, the hangars will offer simultaneous maintenance to five narrow-body aircraft, thereby significantly increasing the company’s operational strength. With an initial investment of USD 40 million, Pegasus aims to optimise time and resources in maintenance processes, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce maintenance-related aircraft downtime.\n\nThe project, which commenced in January 2025, has been completed within a year. In this initial phase, two maintenance hangars capable of providing line and base maintenance for five narrow-body aircraft simultaneously, as well as one paint hangar, have been put into operation. In the second phase, to be completed in the last quarter of 2026, an additional hangar providing base maintenance for five more narrow-body aircraft will become operational. In the third phase, planned to start within 4-5 years, this hangar will be expanded to accommodate ten narrow-body aircraft, marking the completion of the aircraft maintenance centre investment.\n\nThese first-phase hangars, which bring line and base maintenance activities together under one roof, have been designed to support a comprehensive range of technical operations. These include line maintenance, engine and landing gear replacements, avionics and structural modifications, base maintenance procedures, full aircraft painting and livery design and coating, as well as component maintenance and training activities.\n\nGüliz Öztürk: “The new hangar investment is a strategic step for faster and more optimised operations”\n\nCommenting on the investment, Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk said: “Every investment we make in technical infrastructure takes our operational strength one step further. Our aircraft maintenance centre investment at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport is a strategic milestone in Pegasus’ sustainable growth journey. Our new hangars will not only enable us to manage the maintenance needs of our growing fleet more effectively, but also accelerate our transformation focused on digitalisation and efficiency. By managing our aircraft maintenance processes more quickly and in a more optimised way, we aim to provide our guests with an ever more seamless travel experience.”\n\nPegasus Strengthens Maintenance and Operational Capabilities with Phase One Hangars\n\nCapable of servicing five narrow-body aircraft simultaneously, these hangars are equipped to accommodate all narrow-body aircraft types, with authorisation for Boeing 737 NG and Airbus A320/A321 family CEO and NEO models.\n\nLocated within 18,000 square metres of enclosed space and supported by a 25,000 square metre apron area, the facility is strategically positioned at the transition point between the two runways of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The first-phase hangars, implemented with an investment of approximately USD 40 million, will not only increase technical capacity but also create additional employment for around 200 people. The facility will primarily serve Pegasus’ growing fleet; in the future, depending on capacity availability, it will also be able to accommodate aircraft belonging to other airlines.\n\nDigitalisation and Sustainability Combined in the New Hangar\n\nThe hangar also represents an important pillar of Pegasus’ digital maintenance and sustainability vision. Processes will operate more quickly and efficiently thanks to practices such as paperless maintenance processes, a digital warehouse and tool management system, unmanned Personal Protective Equipment dispensers, and AI-supported occupational health solutions. Preventive maintenance activities and data analytics systems enable maintenance needs to be anticipated in advance, supporting uninterrupted operations. In terms of sustainability, an infrastructure focused on energy efficiency and waste management was chosen for the hangar construction.\n\nPOPULAR DESTINATIONS\n\nCITIES\n\nCOUNTRIES\n\nTRIP GUIDES\n\nAIRPORTS\n\nBuy plane tickets from the Pegasus Mobile App\n\nDownload my mobile app for free to be informed about the campaigns 1 day before!\n\nEasily manage all the steps of your journey from a single screen.\n\nPegasus Hava Taşımacılığı Anonim Şirketi is a joint-stock company operating under the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. It is the first codeshare agreement in AirAsia's history, and it opens for sale today.\n\nPegasus guests can now book flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Kuala Lumpur operated by AirAsia X, the Group's long-haul airline, through Pegasus' own sales channels, connecting from across the Pegasus domestic and international network with check-in and baggage handled through to the final destination. AirAsia X has flown the route four times a week since November 2025 and will increase it to daily by February 2027.\n\nIn the other direction, AirAsia guests can connect at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen onto Pegasus flights to destinations including London Stansted, Moscow Vnukovo, Zurich, Athens and Ankara - the first time Pegasus' network has been linked to Southeast Asia on a single ticket.\n\nGüliz Öztürk, CEO, Pegasus Airlines, said: \"Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen is a natural connecting point between Europe and Asia. That AirAsia's first-ever codeshare is with Pegasus Airlines is a source of pride: it reflects the network we have built from Istanbul over two decades, and a hub that continues to grow. Our guests can now reach Kuala Lumpur seamlessly and, from there, AirAsia's network of more than 140 destinations across Asia-Pacific, while travellers from Southeast Asia and beyond gain a gateway into Türkiye and Europe. We will build on this together, developing a more integrated travel ecosystem across both networks and opening up more destinations, simpler journeys and affordable fares for our guests.\"\n\nBo Lingam, Group CEO, AirAsia Group, said: “As AirAsia’s first-ever codeshare, this partnership marks a meaningful milestone in our 25th year and the next chapter in our evolution from a leading Asean low-cost carrier into a truly global travel network. By connecting our extensive network across Asia with Pegasus’ strong network from Istanbul, spanning 161 destinations across 57 countries, we are making Europe more accessible to our guests while creating a gateway for European travellers to discover Asean and beyond. This partnership gives travellers more choices, connectivity and opportunities to explore the world at affordable fares, while laying the foundation for even greater connectivity through strategic partnerships in the future.”\n\nThe two airlines plan to extend the partnership to further destinations across both networks, with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Kuala Lumpur as the connecting points.\n\n*AirAsia Group, formerly known as AirAsia X Berhad\n\nPOPULAR DESTINATIONS\n\nCITIES\n\nCOUNTRIES\n\nTRIP GUIDES\n\nAIRPORTS\n\nBuy plane tickets from the Pegasus Mobile App\n\nDownload my mobile app for free to be informed about the campaigns 1 day before!\n\nEasily manage all the steps of your journey from a single screen.\n\nPegasus Hava Taşımacılığı Anonim Şirketi is a joint-stock company operating under the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The first use case is now live, marking the start of a phased roadmap that will run through mid-2027 and is planned to cover the top 10 guest service use cases, which account for the majority of relevant contact centre volume. Pegasus served approximately 43.3 million guests in 2025 across routes spanning Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.\n\nPegasus is bringing Zingly's agentic voice AI directly into its guest service operations, with the aim of resolving guest requests during the call rather than logging them for follow-up. Both the investment and the partnership are in line with Pegasus' mission as 'Your Digital Airline' and its vision to become one of the top three airlines in the world in terms of technology use. The technology answers inbound guest calls in natural conversation, holds context throughout the interaction, and connects directly into Pegasus' existing systems so that requests are resolved on the call. It works alongside the systems Pegasus already runs, with no re-platforming required. Where a request needs a person, the call is handed to a Pegasus guest service agent with the full context of the conversation, so the guest doesn't start again.\n\nAirlines often see demand for guest support rise sharply during travel disruptions. The partnership aims to help Pegasus respond more flexibly to these peaks and, as the rollout progresses, develop more timely and personalised voice interactions. This reflects a shared ambition to make guest service increasingly responsive to guests’ needs throughout their journey.\n\nOperating across 161 destinations in 57 countries, Pegasus serves guests who speak Turkish, English, German, Arabic, Farsi and other languages. The rollout begins in Turkish, with additional languages introduced as the roadmap progresses. The phased plan targets the guest service use cases that drive both cost and revenue, with the goal of serving every guest in their preferred language more guests in their preferred language while helping Pegasus scale its guest service operations as the airline grows.\n\nCommenting on the partnership, Kurtuluş Öztürk, Managing Director @ Pegasus Innovation Lab, said: “AI is transforming customer experience in aviation at an unprecedented pace. Zingly stood out for the maturity of its agentic voice AI and its ability to support complex guest interactions in the voice channel. Our investment reflects our ambition to build a truly digital airline, where guest interactions are quick, consistent and designed around the guest. By enabling AI to retain context and take proactive action, we can also enhance the guest experience while allowing our teams to focus on the more complex interactions.”\n\nGaurav Passi, CEO at Zingly.ai, said: \"Zingly was built for environments where the stakes of a failed interaction are high, and the volume of interactions is enormous. Aviation is the ultimate proving ground: multiple languages, irregular operations, time-sensitive decisions, and guests who expect resolution, not a ticket number. With Pegasus we are starting where the stakes are highest, in the voice channel, and expanding use case by use case.\"\n\nPegasus and Zingly are beginning this journey with priority guest service needs and will expand the experience step by step as the partnership develops. Together with its partners, Delta will offer more than 200 daily departures at the summer peak. That scale, combined with Delta’s premium offering, transformed airport experience and deep roots in the Los Angeles community, further strengthens its position as Los Angeles’ #1 airline*.\n\n“Los Angeles shapes, transforms, and influences the world, and LAX is proud to be the gateway connecting travelers to our city.” said Courtney Moore, Chief Revenue & Experience Officer at Los Angeles World Airports. “Our airline partners’ investment in connectivity helps strengthen Los Angeles' position as a leading global destination. As we continue transforming LAX, growing our network alongside the airport experience is an important part of creating the world-class gateway Los Angeles deserves.”\n\nA premium experience from curb to cabin\n\nBeyond growing its network, Delta continues to strengthen its position in Los Angeles through industry-leading premium offerings and investments that enhance the travel experience. Delta offers more premium seats at LAX than any other airline and remains focused on elevating every stage of the customer journey.\n\nOn the ground\n\nDelta’s investments at LAX create a more seamless and premium journey for customers.\n\nLAX Gallery on the Ground\n\nModernized airport experience: Delta's $2.3 billion Sky Way at LAX transformed Terminals 2 and 3 into a connected, state-of-the-art campus designed to support the airline’s long-term growth in Los Angeles. Continued enhancements to wayfinding, security processing and terminal amenities make the experience more convenient and efficient for customers.\n\nDedicated Delta One experience: Delta One customers enjoy a dedicated Delta One Check-In experience, including private TSA security screening, creating a more personalized and streamlined start to their journey. Customers also have access to exclusive Delta One Lounges.\n\nGrowing lounge footprint: LAX recently became the first airport in Delta’s network to offer two Delta One Lounges, with an additional 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club opening in Terminal 2 in 2027.\n\nEven more to come: By 2028, LAX will have four dedicated Delta lounge spaces, including two Delta One Lounges and two Delta Sky Clubs across Terminals 2 and 3, totaling more than 60,000 square feet and more than 1,000 seats. With the opening of the new T2 lounge, Delta will have nearly doubled its Delta One Lounge space at LAX.\n\nWhen Phase 2 is complete in 2028, Delta’s lounge footprint at LAX will total 60,000 square feet and offer more than 1,000 seats to guests.\n\nIn the air\n\nDelta's focus on the customer experience extends onboard.\n\nLAX Gallery in the Air\n\nCurated wine program: Beginning Oct. 1, Delta One customers will enjoy a new wine portfolio featuring 13 selections from leading California and global winery partners.\n\nCustomer approved and Master Sommelier selected, Delta’s new wine program was intrinsically designed to connect every glass to the destination, people and stories behind it. Plus, Champagne Taittinger expands to Domestic Delta One.\n\nElevated onboard dining: Customers traveling in Domestic First Class can enjoy chef-curated dishes from José Andrés.\n\nMore premium seats: Delta offers more premium seats at LAX than any other airline, supported by a premium airport and onboard experience.\n\nA350 Delta One experience: Delta's international network from LAX is operated by A350-900 aircraft featuring 40 Delta One seats.\n\nDelta One across the network: Customers can also enjoy Delta One on select domestic routes, including Honolulu (HNL), Maui (OGG), Kona (KOA), New York-JFK, Boston (BOS) and Atlanta (ATL).\n\nPremium experience for all: Fast, free Wi‑Fi for SkyMiles Members, including on flights from Los Angeles across the Pacific beginning this fall, Delta Sync entertainment and elevated onboard amenities enhance the journey for all customers.\n\nUnmatched service: The dedication of Delta people and their commitment to delivering personalized, caring service has helped make Delta America's most-awarded airline, earning recognition for customer experience, operational excellence and reliability.\n\nWith more premium seats than any other airline and a world-class experience that extends from curb to cabin, Delta continues to lead as the most premium airline at LAX.\n\nDelta’s largest-ever LAX schedule\n\nAt its summer 2027 peak, Delta and its partners will offer more than 200 daily departures to nearly 70 destinations from LAX, giving Angelenos even more ways to connect around the world and throughout the U.S. Delta is also the only carrier at LAX serving all of the airport’s top 10 markets with multiple daily flights, giving customers greater choice and flexibility across the destinations they travel most.\n\nHelping drive Delta’s growth are new nonstop routes to Monterey and Philadelphia, alongside additional frequencies across several key domestic markets.\n\nNew ways to fly from LAX\n\n“We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer,” said Amy Martin, Vice President of Network Planning at Delta. “With new service to Monterey from both Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, alongside our continued growth at LAX, we’re creating more opportunities for customers to connect to the places they want to go while building on our long-term commitment to Los Angeles and the West.”\n\nDelta’s expanded summer schedule builds on a period of significant growth in Los Angeles, both domestically and internationally.\n\nAcross the South Pacific, Delta connects Los Angeles with Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland, with Melbourne service growing to daily for the peak period beginning Dec. 22 and Auckland returning daily beginning Oct. 25.\n\nDelta is further strengthening its presence in Australia and the South Pacific with the launch of nonstop service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Melbourne (MEL), beginning December 2025.\n\nDelta has expanded its international reach from LAX with new service to Hong Kong and Shanghai, while also announcing service to Vancouver and Manila. Delta now offers service to 25 international destinations and provides one-stop access to more than 100 countries through Delta and its global partners.\n\nNew nonstop Los Angeles-Manila service gives customers a new premium way to experience the Philippines while further expanding Delta’s growing Asia-Pacific network from LAX.\n\nDomestically, Delta continues to strengthen its position as the largest carrier from LAX to Florida, with its largest-ever Florida schedule featuring up to 13 daily departures and more than 2,500 peak-day seats. The schedule includes new service to Palm Beach and additional flights to Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.\n\nDelta is also expanding service in the New York market with new service to Newark, building on its position as the largest carrier between Los Angeles and New York City. New routes to Chicago further expand Delta's domestic network from LAX, giving customers even more travel options across key business and leisure destinations.\n\nBeyond LAX, Delta serves customers across Southern California through airports including Orange County (SNA), Hollywood Burbank (BUR), Ontario (ONT) and Long Beach (LGB), with the recent return of Delta One seasonal service between New York-JFK and Orange County further enhancing premium travel options in the region.\n\nDelta’s commitment to Los Angeles goes beyond LAX\n\nDelta’s investment in Los Angeles extends beyond the terminal. More than 4,500 Delta employees are based in the L.A. area, helping connect the region to the world while supporting the communities where they live and work. Across Southern California, Delta partners with more than 25 organizations advancing education, workforce development, hunger relief and sustainability. Delta also supports some of the region’s most recognizable hometown teams, including the L.A. Lakers and L.A. Kings, while its partnerships with small and diverse businesses create more than $700K in statewide economic impact. That connection to Los Angeles will take on even greater significance as the city prepares to welcome the world in 2028. As an inaugural Founding Partner of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Official Airline of Team USA, Delta is honored to support Los Angeles on the Road to 2028.\n\n*Delta will maintain its position as Los Angeles' largest global premium carrier in summer 2027, operating more flights, offering more seats and providing more premium seats from LAX than any other airline.","body_en":null,"categories":["resultats","reseau"],"created_at":"2026-10-29T16:16:15.270057+00:00","enriched_at":"2026-10-29T16:40:02.339+00:00"},{"id":"55bbb6e7-b408-4410-b5e8-a5b1b3d5fe77","sector":"air","source_slug":"delta","source_type":"airline","org_group":null,"alliance":"SkyTeam","org_name":"Delta Air Lines","title":"The New Era of Delta One","published_at":"2026-10-29T20:14:22.681+00:00","source_url":"https://news.delta.com/new-era-delta-one","language":"en","summary":"","body":"The New Era of Delta One\n\nEvery detail, reimagined one by one\n\nA new era of Delta One is here, bringing a fully reimagined culinary, beverage and hospitality program on board transoceanic Delta One routes departing Los Angeles International Airport this fall, with expansion across the network in 2027.\n\nGrounded in customer insights and the expertise of Delta people, the investments deliver on the airline’s relentless efforts to deliver the industry’s most premium experience, at every point in the travel journey.\n\nREAD THE FULL STORY\n\nCulinary\n\nClassics, Redefined\n\nAt the heart of Delta’s reimagined Delta One experience is a culinary program built around perfecting and elevating meals customers already love. We are modernizing our fleet, renewing our cabins and lounges, continuously developing our services and offering cuisine at a world-leading level. With the intended initial acquisition of a minority stake, Lufthansa Group is pursuing a clear strategic agenda: to support TAP Air Portugal’s growth while preserving its national identity and to sustainably strengthen Portugal’s connectivity, particularly with North and Latin America.Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, says:\n\n“TAP Air Portugal is a strong and profitable airline, our long-standing partner in Star Alliance and internationally successful as a leading carrier on South Atlantic routes. It is known for its outstanding employees and has a compelling business model. With today’s decision, the Portuguese government has paved the way for TAP Air Portugal to continue this success story together with Lufthansa Group. At the same time, this allows us to consistently pursue our internationalization strategy and sustainably strengthen our position in the South Atlantic market. Our company has enjoyed a close and trusted partnership with Portugal for many years. For decades, we have invested in the country, created and secured highly skilled jobs, and connected Portugal with Europe and the world. We look forward to a shared future with TAP Air Portugal and to continuing our constructive cooperation with the government in Lisbon!”\n\nLufthansa Group welcomes today’s announcement by the Portuguese government to initiate the process for the full privatization of TAP Air Portugal. Previous acquisitions have shown that a majority stake creates additional benefits for all parties involved.\n\nLufthansa Group has offered a purchase price of EUR 1.025 billion for the 44.9 percent stake. This amount could increase to up to EUR 1.2 billion for the acquisition of a 49.9 percent stake, due to up to 5 percent of shares initially offered to employees as well as a ticking fee.\n\nLufthansa Group has been active in Portugal for more than 70 years. The Group’s airlines currently offer 353 weekly flights to six destinations in Portugal, representing a 75 percent increase in capacity compared with 2019. More than 500 skilled professionals currently work for Lufthansa Group companies in Portugal. With the construction of the new Lufthansa Technik site in Santa Maria da Feira near Porto, where ground was broken in June, this number is expected to increase to more than 1,000 direct jobs by 2030.\n\nLufthansa Group is now working together with the Portuguese government and Parpública to finalize the transaction documents and expects to complete and sign the agreements for the acquisition of the stake shortly. All passengers received a specially produced farewell booklet as a gift.\n\nThe captain of the final flight was Francesco Sciortino, Lufthansa Airlines Board Member and Hub Manager Frankfurt, who has himself flown the A340-600 for many years.\n\n“We will never forget this last flight with the A340-600,” said Francesco Sciortino. “I am grateful that this aircraft has safely carried more than 40 million guests across the globe in 23 years. At the same time, we are looking forward to the largest fleet modernization in the company’s history. The A340-600 is leaving, and in its place come aircraft of the latest design: quieter, more efficient and more comfortable. We expect the Airbus A350-1000 and further Boeing 787s very soon, and the Boeing 777-9 next year. We are investing in our premium offering for our guests. We are renewing not only the aircraft but also the products and services on the ground and in the air, for an even more premium experience at Lufthansa.”\n\nFarewell after 23 years\n\nOn 25 November 2003, Lufthansa took delivery of its first A340-600, D-AIHB, which was christened “Bremerhaven” in 2004. At 75.30 meters, the A340-600 was the longest passenger aircraft in the world at the time. Its first destinations in the Lufthansa network were Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.\n\nOver the following two decades, the A340-600 made history at Lufthansa. Among other things, it was used for climate research as part of the CARIBIC project and took the German national football team to its successful World Cup campaign in Brazil. In March 2022, it was the first aircraft to return to Washington, D.C., after the pandemic-related grounding.\n\nIn total, Lufthansa operated 24 aircraft of this type during this period.\n\nThe largest fleet renewal in the company’s history\n\nThe retirement of the A340-600 is part of the largest fleet modernization in Lufthansa’s history.\n\nIn addition to the A340-600, the Airbus A340-300, the Airbus A330-200 and the Boeing 747-400 will also be retired by 2027. They will be replaced by state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 777-9 aircraft. According to the manufacturers, these aircraft are quieter, consume 30 percent less kerosene and produce correspondingly lower emissions. Eighteen Boeing 787-9 aircraft are already in service, and a further 11 aircraft of this type will be delivered by 2027.\n\nBy 2028, 70 percent of Lufthansa's long-haul fleet is expected to consist of next-generation aircraft, an important lever for greater efficiency and comfort. Fewer aircraft types also mean less complexity in maintenance, planning and training, and therefore a more economically sound basis for the future.\n\nMore from Newsroom\n\nSWISS celebrates inaugural flight to Bengaluru\n\nToday at 1:34 p.m., SWISS flight LX140 departed Zurich for Bengaluru for the first time. The airlines Lufthansa, Discover Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss and ITA Airways are expanding their offering for Summer 2027 now.\n\nThe focus is on the Americas (Canada, the USA, and South America), with new nonstop connections to Edmonton (Canada), Columbus and Phoenix in the USA, and Caracas in Venezuela. Asia is also in focus, with two new destinations in Japan from Frankfurt: Nagoya and Tokyo-Narita.\n\n\"The world moves a little closer for Lufthansa Group customers in the Summer 2027 flight schedule: a total of ten new destinations and even more new connections represent not only the largest route expansion across our six Lufthansa Group hubs in a long time, but above all a promise to our guests: even more choice, even better connectivity, and even shorter journeys to what drives people — meeting business partners, family and friends, and exploring the world together with them,\" says Stefan Kreuzpaintner, Senior Vice President Commercial Customer Offer.\n\nNew Lufthansa services from Frankfurt\n\nFrom 5 May 2027, Lufthansa will connect Frankfurt with Columbus, the state capital of Ohio, USA, three times per week – on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays – on a nonstop basis. Lufthansa is the first and therefore the only European airline with a nonstop connection to this economically strong region with a high proportion of business travelers. A Boeing 787-9 in the new Allegris cabin configuration will be deployed on this route.\n\nBookable since 6 October: From 28 March 2027, Lufthansa will operate a daily flight from Frankfurt to Tokyo-Narita (Japan). This complements the airline's existing daily services from Frankfurt and Munich to Tokyo-Haneda, with a second Tokyo airport served daily. Lufthansa will operate the Tokyo-Narita service with the Boeing 787-9 in Allegris configuration.\n\nLufthansa will also seasonally resume the direct Frankfurt–Nagoya (Japan) connection: from 29 March 2027, flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from Frankfurt. In addition, the airline is increasing frequencies to, among other destinations, Cape Town (South Africa), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Hyderabad, Chennai (both India) and Montreal (Canada). The Frankfurt–Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) route, which is being added to the schedule in October 2026, will continue through Summer 2027 and be expanded to a daily departure.\n\nAs a new European destination from Frankfurt, Dubrovnik (Croatia) will be served by Lufthansa again – daily with an aircraft from the A320 family.\n\nNew Lufthansa services from Munich\n\nFrom 3 August 2027, Lufthansa will launch the new Munich–Phoenix route. The state capital of Arizona is one of the fastest-growing regions in the USA and has not yet had a direct connection to any Lufthansa Group hub. Three times per week – on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays – an Airbus A350-900 will depart from Munich to Phoenix.\n\nFrom 28 March 2027, Lufthansa will add a second service to its Munich–Delhi offering – seasonally, also with an Airbus A350-900. Additional frequencies will be added to, among other destinations, Bangalore (India), Chicago (USA), São Paulo (Brazil) and Singapore.\n\nNew at SWISS:\n\nSWISS is expanding its offerings in the summer of 2027 where demand from its passengers is particularly high. On long-haul routes, the newly introduced connection to Bengaluru in southern India with five weekly flights will remain part of the summer schedule. SWISS is also expanding its service to Tokyo-Narita (Japan): at the beginning of the summer season until the end of May, and in October, the airline will fly to Tokyo daily. From June to September, it will increase the frequency from five to six flights per week compared to last summer.\n\nWith Toulouse (France), the airline is adding a new destination to its route network, connecting Zurich with the southern French city twice a week from June 25 to August 23. At the same time, SWISS is increasing frequencies to popular holiday and business destinations in Europe, including Budapest (Hungary), Hamburg, Paris, Nice (both France), Bremen, and Niš (Serbia).\n\nNew at Austrian Airlines:\n\nMauritius and Malé (Maldives) will continue to be served until 22 April 2027 and 25 April 2027, respectively — almost a full month beyond the winter schedule. Asia remains particularly popular among passengers — Tokyo-Narita (Japan) and Shanghai (China) are back on the schedule from the very start of the Summer 2027 timetable. From May through October, Tokyo will be served daily, reflecting the sustained enthusiasm for Japan, while Shanghai will be operated five times per week. Bangkok (Thailand) will be served daily throughout the entire summer schedule.\n\nAcross the Atlantic, Austrian's Summer 2027 schedule will once again feature services to New York (JFK and EWR), Washington, Boston and Chicago, as well as Montreal — and from late April, Los Angeles returns to the network as well. All routes will operate between five and seven times per week, using a Boeing 777.\n\nNew from June to September 2027: the Vienna–Beirut (Lebanon) route will be launched.\n\nDue to high demand, in 2027, Austrian will offer by far the largest Greece portfolio within the entire Lufthansa Group, catering to its ever-growing fan base — from Rhodes and Crete to Mykonos and Kalamata, there is something for everyone. Spain will also feature prominently in the summer schedule, with the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and mainland Spain all represented. The program is further complemented by an expanded schedule in Italy and France.\n\nNew at ITA Airways:\n\nLooking ahead to the 2027 summer season, ITA Airways will further expand its network with the launch of a new direct service between Rome Fiumicino and Caracas, broadening its international offering and strengthening connectivity between Italy and Venezuela. The new route will commence operations on March 30, 2027, with three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, operated by A339 aircraft.\n\nThe company will also expand its domestic network. Starting on 28 March 2027, the new Rome Fiumicino–Verona route will enhance connectivity between key Italian regions, supporting seamless connections for both business and leisure travelers.\n\nNew at Brussels Airlines:\n\nBrussels Airlines launches Cairo as a new destination in summer 2027. The Belgian airline will connect Brussels with the capital of Egypt five times weekly. After the successful launch of Kilimanjaro in summer 2026, Brussels Airlines will increase its flights to this Tanzanian airport to three times weekly.\n\nOn the European network, Brussels Airlines adds Evenes in Norway to the summer schedule, after a successful launch of sales for the 2026/27 winter timetable. Other European destinations with increased frequencies are Porto (Portugal), Heraklion and Zakynthos (Greece), and Funchal (Madeira).\n\nNew at Edelweiss:\n\nEdelweiss is continuing to expand its flight offerings on several long-haul routes. Seasonal flights to Windhoek will begin as early as March 16 and will increase to three weekly flights starting in July.\n\nThe Kilimanjaro/Zanzibar route will now be served four times a week. In addition, Edelweiss is increasing the frequency of flights to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) to up to four per week, and those to Malé (Maldives) and Tampa Bay (USA) to up to five flights per week each.\n\nNew at Discover Airlines:\n\nDiscover Airlines is expanding its Canadian network with the launch of its first-ever nonstop service from Frankfurt to Edmonton in summer 2027. Alongside Calgary and Halifax, Alberta’s capital will become the airline’s third destination in Canada. Beginning June 1, 2027, Discover Airlines will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, making it the only airline to offer nonstop service between Germany and Edmonton.\n\nThe leisure airline is also strengthening its long-haul network in Munich by basing a third Airbus A330-300 there. With the addition of two flights to Windhoek, service to the Namibian capital will increase to five weekly departures from Munich in next summer’s schedule.\n\nEurowings will publish its summer flight schedule at a later date.\n\nMore from Newsroom\n\nSWISS celebrates inaugural flight to Bengaluru\n\nToday at 1:34 p.m., SWISS flight LX140 departed Zurich for Bengaluru for the first time. The aim is to highlight the Group's strengths and the benefits to customers through the strong alliance of the Group's airlines. The campaign is the next step in positioning the Lufthansa Group as the company's umbrella brand. In December 2025, the Lufthansa Group had already presented its new brand identity.\n\nThe campaign line, “Greatness is a Group effort,” emphasizes that a strong group creates shared values for customers. Lufthansa Group is the first airline group in the world to position itself as a B2C brand. Marketing activities by the individual Group airlines and companies will continue in parallel.\n\nUnder this link you will find the campaign film: Homepage | Lufthansa Group\n\nGroups achieve more together. By combining their strengths, they can achieve more than any one of them could alone. For customers, the strength of an integrated airline group is felt throughout the journey. By bringing its airlines and hubs together in one global network, Lufthansa Group offers greater choice, more connections and greater flexibility. Customers benefit from an extensive lounge network, shared loyalty benefits and digital services that make travel easier and more personal. Together, these advantages create a more seamless travel experience across the Group, while allowing each airline to retain its distinctive character.\n\n“The future of travel will be shaped by strong partnerships, seamless experiences and trusted brands. The Lufthansa Group stands for all three. By bringing together leading airlines under one strong umbrella, we create a unique travel ecosystem of global reach, premium experiences and digital innovation. ‘Greatness is a Group effort’ is more than a campaign claim - it is a strategic investment in our future”, says Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group.\n\nThe new B2C campaign will be rolled out gradually across the touchpoints of each airline’s customer journey – and will be visible on digital channels, social media, in lounges, at airports, and on board.\n\nMore from Newsroom\n\nSWISS celebrates inaugural flight to Bengaluru\n\nToday at 1:34 p.m., SWISS flight LX140 departed Zurich for Bengaluru for the first time. The new name places even stronger emphasis on customers' contribution to greater sustainability in aviation and thus reflects new regulatory requirements for environmental communication: By choosing an Impact Fare, passengers support the additional use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) across the Lufthansa Group's route network. In addition, they contribute to selected climate protection projects outside the company's value chain. Depending on the project, these aim to avoid or remove CO₂. Customers can book the Impact Fare with Lufthansa Group airlines in all travel classes.\n\nHow the Impact Fare worksFor every Impact Fare booking, the Lufthansa Group deploys an additional amount of SAF in its flight operations within six months of departure. For flights within Europe, this volume is based on 20 percent of the estimated flight-related CO₂ emissions. The fare also supports climate protection projects. The amount of the contribution is based on the remaining 80 percent of the estimated flight-related CO₂ emissions. On intercontinental routes, the ratio is 10 to 90 percent. In addition, passengers receive additional Miles and Points. Depending on the booking class and destination, the Impact Fare also includes more flexible or fee-free rebooking options.\n\nMore than five million Green Fare passengers to dateThe Green Fare was introduced in 2023 and has since successfully established itself as an offering. More than five million passengers have booked the fare to date. The Lufthansa Group pursues five approaches to lower-emission aviation: the modernization of its fleet, measures to increase fuel efficiency, the use of SAF, the expansion of intermodality and diverse offerings for private and corporate customers who wish to support additional measures in the area of sustainability. In addition, the company has been engaged in global climate and weather research for more than 30 years.\n\nMore from Newsroom\n\nExcellent environmental management: Lufthansa Airlines revalidated under EMAS\n\nFlying more sustainably with “shark skin”: Lufthansa Group tests next-generation AeroSHARK\n\nLufthansa Technik and partner Surventis are testing a next-generation material for wings and tail surfaces in flight operations\n\nTesting of approximately 70 film patches on a Lufthansa City Airlines Airbus …\n\nLufthansa's first Airbus A350-1000 arrives with a special livery\n\n15 years in the service of science: Lufthansa Airbus celebrates research anniversary\n\nLufthansa A340-300 “D-AIGT” has been collecting climate-relevant data for the European research program IAGOS since 2011\n\nUp to three Lufthansa Group aircraft collect atmospheric measurement data …","body_en":null,"categories":["reseau","co2","regulation"],"created_at":"2026-10-29T16:16:12.890132+00:00","enriched_at":"2026-10-29T16:20:04.014+00:00"},{"id":"8b3a4887-7217-489c-b9f3-f951738f57c9","sector":"air","source_slug":"lufthansa-group","source_type":"group","org_group":"Lufthansa Group","alliance":"Star Alliance","org_name":"Lufthansa Group","title":"Lufthansa and Fraport Inaugurate the “Gate of the Future” at Frankfurt Airport","published_at":"2026-10-29T20:14:17.807+00:00","source_url":"https://newsroom.lufthansagroup.com/en/lufthansa-and-fraport-inaugurate-the-gate-of-the-future-at-frankfurt-airport/","language":"en","summary":"","body":"Lufthansa and Fraport Inaugurate the “Gate of the Future” at Frankfurt Airport\n\nTags\n\nAn error occurred while preparing your download\n\nWelcome to Gate A16, the “Gate of the Future” in Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 1. This redesigned departure gate features a completely new look with lounge-style furniture and flexible working areas, along with live updates on departing flights on large monitors, boarding personnel circulating to proactively assist passengers, and more interactive digital offerings.\n\nHere in this unique, completely redesigned gate area, Lufthansa and Fraport are jointly testing ways to offer customers better service, faster and smoother boarding and an even more pleasant travel experience for departing passengers.\n\nToday, Francesco Sciortino, Board Member Lufthansa Airlines and Hub Manager Frankfurt, and Dietmar Focke, Fraport AG’s Chief Operating Officer, officially inaugurated the “Gate of the Future.”\n\nFrancesco Sciortino:\n\n“We’re committed to ensuring a premium passenger experience, not only in the air but also on the ground – that too is what Lufthansa stands for. At Gate A16, our passengers can see how future-proof processes ensure a more pleasant and efficient start to their journey. The ‘Gate of the Future’ is yet another milestone on our shared journey with Fraport. Frankfurt is already Europe’s best-connected hub airport – and precisely that is what we want to continue developing together.”\n\nDietmar Focke:\n\n“The future of travel is emerging not in the laboratory but in actual operation. Together with Lufthansa, we’re demonstrating how a strong partnership can generate specific innovations that noticeably enhance the travel experience. What we’re testing and developing here together has a clear goal: greater comfort and convenience for passengers, optimized processes and an even stronger competitive position for Frankfurt as an aviation hub.”\n\nNew services and features at Gate A16\n\nThe first things one notices about the new “Gate of the Future” are its impressive large wall monitors and 360-degree displays. They indicate the departure time and boarding status, in addition to information on hand luggage and live updates on gate changes. The goal is to quickly and comprehensively provide passengers with all relevant information so they can make the most of their time at the gate. QR codes are available to directly access all digital self-services, including a link to the Lufthansa app.\n\nAlso new: boarding staff circulate at the gate, approaching customers to answer their questions and help them with seat reservations, upgrades, rebookings and more. There is no longer a fixed counter. Instead, each mobile assistant carries a tablet that provides access to various boarding systems via a single intuitive user interface. This gives staff fast, direct access to all the information they need and allows them, for example, to centrally issue automatic announcements at the gate.\n\nIn addition to the digital offerings and personal service, the look and feel of the gate area has been redesigned. At Gate A16, passengers can work in flexible work cubes that give them greater privacy and more peace and quiet. The furnishings, including comfortable sofas, as well as selected artworks, make the area feel more like a lounge than a conventional waiting area. The gate’s ambiance thus also contributes to a comfortable stay.\n\nA blueprint for future developments at FRA\n\nLufthansa and Fraport are using Gate A16 to test new services and identify the ones that especially delight customers. This information is important for deciding which elements of the new concept can also be applied at other gates and elsewhere.\n\nFollowing a summer with the best punctuality scores since 2016 – an achievement to which both partners contributed – Frankfurt Airport is set to continue growing as the European hub with the best connections and greatest connectivity. Innovations such as the “Gate of the Future” are playing a key role in this.\n\nMore from Newsroom\n\nSWISS celebrates inaugural flight to Bengaluru\n\nToday at 1:34 p.m., SWISS flight LX140 departed Zurich for Bengaluru for the first time. For 107 years, KLM has connected the Netherlands with the world while showcasing internationally what the country stands for. Through its annual miniature house tradition, KLM honors special places and stories that represent the Netherlands. This year, the spotlight is on the Zeeland winery, which has been supplying Dutch wine for KLM’s World Business Class for more than twenty years.\n\nA shared pioneering spirit\n\nAs the world’s oldest airline still operating under its original name, KLM has played an important role in the development of international aviation for 107 years. From pioneering a unique hub-and-spoke network model to opening new European and intercontinental routes, KLM has continuously sought new ways to connect the Netherlands with the world.\n\nKLM continues to innovate today. The celebration of its 107th anniversary falls during a week in which the airline is taking a concrete step toward future-ready aviation with the arrival of its first Airbus A350. This aircraft is cleaner, quieter, and more fuel-efficient than previous generations and will soon be deployed on several intercontinental routes.\n\nKLM recognizes that same pioneering spirit in De Kleine Schorre. When the vineyard was established on Zeeland soil in 2001, it was met with considerable skepticism. After all, premium wine was associated with the sunny hills of Southern Europe, not the heavy marine clay and salty winds of Schouwen-Duiveland. Defying expectations, De Kleine Schorre grew into a leading Dutch winery. Today, passengers from around the world enjoy its Zeeland wines from September to November in KLM World Business Class.\n\nValued craftsmanship\n\nWhat connects KLM and the Zeeland winery goes beyond their long-standing partnership. Both combine craftsmanship with innovation and share the ambition to make a difference in their respective fields. This focus on quality, hospitality, and entrepreneurship forms the foundation of a partnership that has now lasted more than 20 years.\n\nFor 107 years, KLM has connected the Netherlands with the world. In doing so, we not only bring people together but also showcase what the Netherlands stands for. With our 107th Delft Blue miniature house, we honor De Kleine Schorre, a partner that, like KLM, dared to pioneer and has demonstrated how Dutch quality and craftsmanship can earn international recognition. That makes this house a fitting symbol of our 107th anniversary.\n\nIt is an enormous honor for our wine estate to become part of KLM’s miniature house collection. Twenty-five years ago, we started with the conviction that excellent wine could be made in the Netherlands, at a time when Dutch wine was nowhere to be found on wine lists. Thanks to our long-standing partnership with KLM, travelers from around the world have been introduced to wine from Zeeland. Having our wine estate immortalized as a Delft Blue KLM miniature house feels like a wonderful crowning achievement for everything we have built over the past 25 years.\n\nAbout the Delft Blue miniature houses\n\nSince the 1950s, KLM has presented Delft Blue miniature houses to World Business Class passengers on intercontinental flights. Since the 1990s, the houses have been filled with Bols Genever. The series shows how colleagues deal with busy schedules, operational disruptions, and unexpected situations, while highlighting how every part of the operation works together to help passengers reach their destinations safely and on time.\n\nIn KL24/7, viewers follow employees working across a wide range of departments within the organization, including the airport platform, Engineering & Maintenance hangars, Cargo, the Animal Hotel, and the Ticket Office, as well as crews in the cockpit and cabin. Together, they form the links in an operation that runs around the clock.\n\nTo create the series, producers from Vincent TV Productions were given extensive access to the organization. As a result, viewers gain an authentic look at the people and craftsmanship behind KLM. The series shines a spotlight on employees who often remain invisible to passengers, yet play an essential role every day in maintaining a safe and reliable operation. It offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at a world most passengers never get to see.\n\nKL24/7 premieres on November 18 and will air every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on RTL 5 and Videoland.","body_en":null,"categories":["resultats","mro"],"created_at":"2026-10-29T13:35:12.705442+00:00","enriched_at":"2026-10-29T14:10:09.027+00:00"},{"id":"94c344d0-928a-4df0-b799-e4ee4567eae9","sector":"air","source_slug":"iata","source_type":"org","org_group":null,"alliance":null,"org_name":"IATA","title":"WFS-WPS 2026 Opening Speech - Sandrine Le Borgne, IATA’s Interim Director General, CFO & SVP Corporate Services","published_at":"2026-10-29T20:14:06.939+00:00","source_url":"https://www.iata.org/en/pressroom/2026-speeches/wfs-wps-2026-opening-speech/","language":"en","summary":"","body":"From Vision to Value: The Next Era of Air Travel\n\nGood morning, and welcome to the 2026 IATA World Financial Symposium and World Passenger Symposium – the first to be held in North Asia.\n\nIt is a pleasure to be in Macao. Let me welcome our distinguished guest Stanley Pun, President of the Civil Aviation Authority, Macao and thank him for joining us today.\n\nChina’s importance to global aviation is clear. Last year, its airlines carried more than 770 million passengers, a new record. Yet the opportunity ahead is even greater. China has enormous potential for further growth in air travel. Capturing that opportunity will require continued investment, particularly in technology that can support growth while making travel simpler, more sustainable, and more efficient.\n\nBut China’s leadership is not only about scale. It has also been at the forefront of digital innovation, changing how people shop, pay, and travel.\n\nThat makes this location a fitting place for the discussions we will have over the next two days. We will hear from Chinese airline leaders about their experience, alongside perspectives from many other airlines and industry partners around the world.\n\nAviation is a global industry which is why we must keep our solutions global and connected. How can we do this? By having one set of global standards and evolving them as technology advances. That is how we turn local progress into a better experience for passengers worldwide.\n\nEnd-to-end collaboration was a key theme at last year’s symposium.\n\n2026\n\nWhat has happened since then? 2026 has been a year of intense volatility. Conflicts have closed some airspace and disrupted many routes. Fuel prices have risen sharply. And aerospace supply chains are still not back to normal.\n\nEvery CEO, CFO, commercial, and operations leader in this room is having to make decisions in a way more volatile world.\n\nAnd you must manage on very-thin margins. Airlines carry more than five billion passengers a year and are expected to earn just US$4.50 per passenger in 2026, which a net margin of around only 2%. A small rise in costs or fall in demand can turn profit into loss.\n\nYou are being asked to deliver two things at the same time: #1 protect today's results and #2 build tomorrow’s solutions that will make your airlines successful in the years to come. Leveraging new technology is an important part of this. Many of the new solutions we have talked about for years have moved from concept to reality.\n\nToday, a traveler can use AI to plan a trip, pay with a digital wallet and use biometrics for a more seamless journey at the airport.\n\nThe challenge now is realizing the value these technologies create.\n\nThis is why the theme of our conference is: From Vision to Value. And I would like to suggest three simple tests to evaluate this:\n\nTest one: How much does it strengthen our ability to succeed in the marketplace of the future?\n\nThe marketplace is evolving fast. Very fast.\n\nAI assistants and automated agents are changing how travelers discover and compare travel. For airlines, that creates opportunity, but also risk.\n\nThe strategic opportunity for airlines is to prepare for this shift while, retaining control of their data, retaining control of their commercial relationships and ensuring the underlying quality of data.\n\nThis makes Modern Airline Retailing more important than ever. Seven airlines are already live or implementing Orders, with more than 20 expected to follow from 2027. IT providers have committed more than $1.7 billion to Offers and Orders.\n\nPut simply, Offers and Orders provide the foundation; AI is the accelerator. They need to move forward together as AI increasingly reshapes how travel is discovered, sold, and serviced.\n\nSucceeding in the marketplace of the future is the first test. The second is whether that success translates into sustainable financial performance.\n\nTest two: How much does it contribute to sustainable financial returns?\n\nVolatility reaches airlines in three places at once. In terms of revenue, as routes are disrupted. In terms of costs, with jet fuel prices more than doubling year-on-year. And in terms of the cost of capital, as financing becomes more expensive.\n\nThe result is pressure on airlines’ capacity to invest for the future. Innovation has to improve the financial sustainability of airlines longer term.\n\nLet’s take payments as an example: every new way to pay can improve choice for the customer. It also impacts cost, cash flow, and risk level. Airlines already spend more than $24.5 billion a year on payments, so these decisions need to be weighed together.\n\nThe same principle applies to the move to Offers and Orders. Finance cannot be an afterthought.\n\nReconciliation, settlement, and revenue accounting must be built in from the start. Otherwise, we risk digitizing complexity rather than removing it.\n\nThe first two tests are about airlines.\n\nTest three: How much does it improve the passenger journey?\n\nThe third is the one passengers apply themselves. How much does it improve their journey?\n\nOn this test, some innovations are already passing. Let me highlight two:\n\nThe first is biometrics. What began as a series of trials and pilot projects is increasingly becoming part of the normal travel experience. Where biometrics are implemented well, they can make airport processing faster and more seamless. The technology works, and passengers like it.\n\nBut today, many of these solutions work airport by airport, and the benefits often stop at the border.\n\nThe industry's answer is One ID: confirm your identity once, and be recognized throughout the journey.\n\nI am delighted to be able to announce today that Hong Kong International Airport and Air New Zealand have become the first organizations to achieve One ID certification, demonstrating that trusted, interoperable digital identity can work in practice.\n\nThis is exactly the kind of partnership that turns a good idea into the normal way to travel.\n\nBut One ID can only go so far on its own. A seamless journey across borders depends on governments trusting and accepting the underlying digital identity.\n\nThat brings me to my second example: the digital passport.\n\nICAO has developed specifications for Digital Travel Credentials, these are secure digital versions of the passport. And passengers are ready. More than eight in ten are interested in using a digital passport to check in.\n\nBut airlines cannot issue passports. Only governments can. Digital passports will only change international travel when governments are ready to issue them and accept them.\n\nThese examples serve as a reminder to us that innovation is rarely delivered by one organization acting alone. It requires industry, governments, and technology partners moving in the same direction. This is something we said last year and that is still needed.\n\nConclusion\n\nThe next two days will focus on how we can:\n\nIf we focus on these three objectives, we will leave Macao with a vision and a clearer path to deliver value.\n\nI wish you a very fruitful and productive conference, thank you.","body_en":null,"categories":["resultats","regulation"],"created_at":"2026-10-29T10:55:22.39607+00:00","enriched_at":"2026-10-29T13:16:52.907+00:00"}]}
